Clinical Interests: Emotional aspects of infertility in women, men and couples; the emotional repercussions in patients that are submitted to assisted reproductive technology such as IVF, ICSI, intrauterine insemination with donor semen, donor gamete recipients, subrogation, known or anonymous gamete donors, etc.

Different aspects that patients must consider when being submitted to such procedures such as: couple stability, family and social aspects, dealing with anxiety, adapting to infertility, cryopreservation, an open or narrow attitude towards offspring born through donated gametes, future repercussions on offspring born through these procedures, decision making regarding anonymous or known donors, issues that must be considered regarding the information about the donors that parents will have in the future to offer their offspring born from those donor’s gametes.

Research Interests: Ethical aspects concerning assisted reproduction, quality of life in patients suffering infertility, influence of cultural aspects in patients suffering infertility, future repercussions in gamete donors and in offspring born from these procedures.

Memberships: Chair of the Latin American Task Force of the Mental Health Professional Group of ASRM. (Representative for Latin America for the Group of Professionals in Mental Health of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine), President of the Mental Health in Infertility Interest Group (GLASMI) of the Latin American Federation of Sterility and Fertility Societies, Founder and Vice-President of the Mexican Infertility Association (AMI).
